Thought I’d share some WIP pics from my newest skill: woodworking! This table was one of the more complicated ones in class, mainly because I wanted to add all the curves to the legs and aprons (so…much…sanding!). I’ve been building other stuff since the class ended, so look forward to more woodworking posts in the future!

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share my first real project I made in a woodworking class (technically my second if you count the starter box we made with hand tools), and I’m really proud of how it turned out. It’s a small side table built with mortise and tenon joinery, and I glued up three panels for the top. I also cut all the curves in the aprons and legs on the bandsaw. My instructor mentioned that I actually picked some of the trickier templates (lots of curved surfaces instead of the nice, easy flat ones) so there was a lot of sculpting and sanding involved. A little personal win: My table ended up being the closest to the plan’s dimensions out of everyone in the class. Turns out I’m more accurate than I thought when it comes to measuring and cutting! My first woodworking project! Still need to decide on a finish, but I wanted to share the build that got me hooked on woodworking. Would love any feedback or advice for finishing options.

Lumber Rack Fail, Now Fixed

Some people might call this “giving up,” but I call it “choosing the practical solution.” The wall rack I made worked…until it didn’t.  These shelves though?
